Event Details

How do we share the Gospel? Do we just ‘download’ a formulaic message? Have we ever thought how our listeners are hearing and understanding what we say? And that many things might actually not be comprehensible and meaningful? At this SCGM Missions Forum, we will learn how to converse with others in terms and through ideas that they can better relate with.

We will also consider other more contextualised missions approaches, including worshipping through culturally-meaningful ways, befriending others through their love languages, discipling oral learners through embodied approaches, and what all these mean for the way we do short-term mission trips.

Come, listen, learn and interact with others who are all exploring new ways to re-gear ourselves for missions in the decade ahead.

She is currently the coordinator of Al Massira in SE Asia and Bangladesh, traveling and sharing with churches and field workers training programs that equip believers to dialogue and journey well with friends who want know how the Old Testament prophets related with God, and understand the signs pointing to the Messiah.

Mary enjoys community building in cross-cultural friendships, board games, music and swimming.

Event Details

The approach of the Church to the Great Commission has profoundly shifted from age to age. One of the distinguishing marks of this current age is the dizzying – and accelerating – rate of change we are experiencing across all spheres of human life. This presentation will look at some of the shifts that most significantly impact global mission, and ways in which the body of Christ can become more effective at fulfilling God’s unchanging call.

JASON MANDRYK

Jason Mandryk is a Canadian author and co-director of Operation World team, and author of the 7th edition of the publication Operation World. Jason is considered one of the foremost researchers into global trends and strategic considerations on mission present and future.
